Buffalo Billiards, 6th and Brazos
For this month’s meeting, Refreshers will discuss actual challenges they have faced and then show how they solved it. The discussions may revolve around an accessibility issue, a logo design, a coding problem, a web site redesign, general scaling issues or business problems As we all know there are usually numerous ways to solve a problem, so it will be interesting to hear why people make certain choices during a project.

I raced over this a bit at the end of the last meeting so put me at the bottom of the list, but I had a lot of trouble with running out of bandwidth on a server. With a combination of a CNAME entry, pre-generating data, and pre-compressing data, I was able to share the load between my “expensive” app server, and a “cheap” dumb server.
